Render questions, answered directly.
Is the render really free?+
Yes. The 48-hour render is free and carries no obligation. It's how we start the design conversation — you see your kitchen before you spend anything, and the render is yours to keep either way.
What happens on the render call?+
It's a 20-minute video or phone call. We reveal the render live, walk through what drives the numbers in your kitchen, and give you Good/Better/Best pricing context. If you want to go further, the next step is the design package; if not, the call ends there.
What's the design and scope package?+
It's the full working package for your remodel — detailed design, materials selections, and a fixed written scope — priced $1,500 to $3,500 depending on kitchen complexity. Every dollar of it is credited back to your build if you proceed with us.
How long does a kitchen remodel take?+
Most San Diego kitchens run roughly four to ten weeks of construction depending on scope — a cosmetic refresh and a full gut renovation are very different schedules. Your written scope includes a realistic timeline for your specific kitchen before work begins.
Do you handle permits?+
Yes. Swell Contracting is a CSLB-licensed general contractor (B #970145), and design, permitting, and construction run under one team. If your remodel needs permits — structural, electrical, plumbing — pulling them is our job.
What are 50/40/10 terms?+
Milestone-based progress billing on a fixed-scope contract: 50% across the early build milestones, 40% at mid-build, and the final 10% due only after your completion walkthrough. The exact milestone schedule is written into the contract, so payments track work you can see.
